Bawa Family Photo Shoot

Bawa FamilyIn August of 2004 I had the good fortune of being commissioned to photograph Aparna and Rafik’s wedding. They flew me down to San Francisco for their three day Hindi/Muslim ceremony. Five years later they found themselves the proud parents of their first born, Nikhil.  Time for some family photos.

The forecast was rain.  Aparna and Rafik were only in town for the weekend though so the show had to go on.   After being blown away by the wind at Lonsdale Quay, we took shelter at Tilford Garden and by the time we were done, two and half hours had gone by.  I normally prefer to use available light only but it was dark in the gardens and there were lots of shadows to fill in.  I quickly put up an off-camera strobe bounced into an umbrella and triggered with a set of PocketWizards.  It worked beautifully.
